Behind the Session: Markul Records at Hague House
When Markul walked into Hague House for a three-day recording session, we knew it was going to be special. The Russian hip-hop artist brought an incredible energy and creative vision that pushed everyone in the room.
The Setup
Markul worked primarily in Studio B, taking advantage of our vocal booth's tight, controlled acoustics. The session was engineered by Sophie Carter, who dialled in a signal chain featuring:
- Neumann U87 through an API 512c preamp
- Universal Audio 1176 compression
- Pro Tools HDX with Avid MTRX
The Process
Over three days, Markul laid down vocals for six tracks. His process was fast and instinctive — most takes were done in two or three passes, with ad-libs stacked on top.
"Hague House has this vibe that just makes you want to create. The team understands what artists need." — Markul
The Result
The tracks are currently in mixing, and we can't wait for you to hear the final product. Stay tuned for release dates.
